Global Societal Equity

Did the 0.00....001% do the majority of the work to create the technological and economic advances of our entire society? 85 people own half of the wealth of the world. Did these people create that wealth, or do they just happen to "own" the "paper" that says that they do? Lets create a world where everyone participating in society get direct ownership of it together as a global community. People who work hard their whole lives, pay rent, buy products, fight in wars, and work to build successful company's can loose it all in just a few months. Why is it possible when you have made some people very rich, can a person just be tossed out on the street and become a homeless beggar after a lifetime of contribution. This should not be possible.
